Okay, so I can't stop looking at water cooling parts. I'm currently running the following:

Corsair 550D Case
Asus P8Z77 Deluxe Mobo
Intel Core i5 3570k @ 4.6ghz
EVGA GTX 670 FTW card
Corsair AX850 Power supply
Corsair H100 cooler

I know the 550d case is limited in space to about 55mm total height at the top of the case before I hit the mobo.
I was thinking of getting this radiator:
http://www.dangerden.com/store/black-ice_pro-ii-radiator.html#tabs
It is only 25mm thick and with 2 fans would bring it to a total of 50mm.

Then I thought about adding a second 120.1 radiator to the back exhaust fan.

I would like to cool the cpu and the video card, but i'm not sure what I should look for.
I don't know if the 5.25 drive bay res/pump combos are any good, but would save some space.

The xspc dual bay res and d5 pump combo works very well. It's got rubberized pieces on the sides so it's nearly silent when operating (once all air is out). With limited room the bay res may be your best bet. The black ice rads are rated well. You could also go with the xspc ex series. There are some kits that you can get good deals on at Jab-tech and sidewinder. Saves a bit more versus picking each part up individually.

the ex series i do like, but they are a tad over the limit and I believe it would be too tight of a fit at the top of the case

that black ice radiator is really the best I could find that would be the right size :-/

If you have room, I highly recommend the swiftech MCP-355 pump and the XSPC clear acrylic pump top-Reservoir. you would need a space about 4 inch square and 8 inch tall to work in.

I have found that bay-res-pump combos are very difficult to fill and bleed, but that's just my experience.

I dont think there are any GTX 670 blocks available yet, I did see a GPU chipset small block made by heatkiller that Bundymania was showing off in his thread, but none for sale here yet. That FTW card does have a full sized PCB and may be identical to a 680 but I cant swear by it.

I have room for a free standing pump/reservoir, but i just wasn't sure where or how it would be mounted securely.

Yeah, the 670 ftw uses a reference 680 pcb, so I can use a 680 block.

also, how well would the setup work with the thinner 120.2 radiator along with a 120.1.
I would like to just have the single 120.2 up top and not deal with another radiator, but I'm worried that with cooling the video card also, the single radiator wouldn't be much better than the H100 i'm using currently.

Another question..
instead of having the single 120.1 radiator on the rear fan exhaust, what If I mounted it to the floor of the case with a fan?
There is already a mount and grill for a bottom fan there, but i'm not sure how well it would cool being that it's on carpet.

So far, i'm picturing it like this:

Dual Bay Res/pump -> Upper 120.2 radiator -> cpu block -> gpu block -> lower 120.1 radiator -> Res/pump

How does that sound?

well, there we go. lol

Ordered the following today:

1x 120x2 Black Ice Pro II crossflow radiator
1x 120x1 Black Ice Xtreme radiator
mcp-35x + xspc reservoir
xspc raystorm waterblock
fittings
hose/clamps

Now i just need to figure out what gtx 680 water block to use. ideas?

Anything but EK. I personally like the Heatkiller and Aquacomputer blocks.

Anyways, the single 2x120 would have been fine, none of your components put out a lot of heat. However, since you're using more radiator, you can get away with slower (i.e. quieter) fans.

well, got it all installed tonight...

I gotta say, i'm pretty happy.

No problems whatsoever!
Both radiators fit no problem.

Idle temp is about a degree lower than the H100 was on the hottest core, load temp about 5 degrees cooler.

the BIGGEST difference is the video card.
the heatkiller block really is just that! Before idle would be around 35-36c on the card. Now it's down to 27c.

load used to be 65-70c hitting the throttle limit. now under the Heaven benchmark, it never goes above 40c and is closer to 36c under load.

the mcp-35x pump is great also. have the bios controlling it. at idle it's 1800rpm's or so, under load it cranks up to 100% which is something like 4500rpm.

oh and it's all so much quieter than the H100 was.

Yep, watercooling doesn't really do much over good air cooling for CPUs, but it works wonders for GPUs. The main factor of watercooling is you can often do good air cooling with less noise for CPUs.

Glad to see that everything fit! I had been following your progress, since I have the same case and wanted to go the water cooling route as well. I’m thinking about going with the same radiators (Black Ice), as with the 550D I have limited options when it comes to water cooling. I have a question which fans did you use on the radiators.

My system specs are:

Corsair 550D Case
Asus P8Z77 Pro Mobo
Intel Core i5 3570k

P.S. It would be great if you could post some pics of your rig so I can see how everything fit :)

Thanks in advance

[Edit] Never mind I just checked out the pics of your rig in the watercooling Sticky, It really does look nice for your first time watercooling :)

noctua nf-f12's on the radiators.
the 2 tops are pushing and the rear is pulling.
I looked at a push/pull on the rear, but it made the inside of the case look too ugly and i couldn't tell a difference in temps.

Asus P8Z77 Deluxe and 3570k here :)

I must say it looks nice, neat and clean. For a first time watercooling you have outdone yourself ;)

Where did you buy all your parts from, and what was the total expenditure?

I have yet to buy the graphics card and I'm trying to gauge how much will I have to spend in the end. How difficult or easy was the installation of the heatkiller on the gpu?
