Upgrading for BF3, should I wait?

Hi guys. So I came across this the other day: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102951&Tpk=hd 6950

Basically can't really get a better deal for a sub-300$ card (that I know of). The thing includes the 6970 bios switch (is this on all the 6950's?) and a copy of deus-ex.

So my question is, do you think there will be any significant drop in price of the 6900 series ATI cards or GTX 570 before the end of October? I know the 7000 series ATI cards aren't supposed to come out until Q1 2012, and I will need to upgrade my 4870 for quality BF3 play. So I figure if I'm not going to see any significant price drops in the next couple months this deal is something I might as well jump on now.

Yes there will be ,I would wait.

BF3 is months away...get a card then.

I'd agree with this - i'm currently running a GTX280 - it plays BC2 and BlackOps well @ 1920X1200

I do my upgrades in stages due to budget, Just got my i5 system setup, 16GB ram, next on the black is a 27" LCD for ~300 and then finally right before BF3 hits, I'll be looking at spending about 300 on a graphics card.

Would love to stay with nVidia but if ATI has their 7000 series rocking by that time I'll go with them, if not I'll probably wind up with a 570GTX

Unless you are super worried about the supply of 6000 series cards now (bit coin miners taking them up left and right) I'd just sit and wait for 2 months. Prices can only fall and you will have more information as release nears.
