upgrading folding at home

Hello,

I want to upgrade to the latest version of folding at home... my question is.. should i just download the new one and install.. or should i uninstall the older version and then instal lthe newer one?

If you are running the console version it’s pretty easy. Shut down F&H, delete the version in your folding folder, replace it with the new version. You really don’t even need to run the –config unless you want to change your options. Make a new shortcut (assuming you use a shortcut and add –advmethods as your switch. No need for anything else if your keeping it simple.

As a rule when I do that I also delete the core files at the same time, but nothing else. When you restart the program will download the latest core automatically.

Also, if you're at all concerned that you might lose the WU you're working on, just wait until it's finished so there's no WU to lose. As BillR said, it's really easy to upgrade with the console version, but be sure to check out the new features like the ability to run as a service so you don't have to come up with creative ways to get it running.
