Upgrading, few questions

Hi guys I'm going to be buying a new DVD Writer, possibly a new Computer Case, and if need be, a new PSU.

1.) I have a POWMAX 350W PSU right now, and my system is in my specs. If I get a DVD Writer will I need to upgrade my PSU?

2.) If I get a new Computer Case will I need to get a new PSU?

3.) I want to get both, if I do will I need a new PSU?

I've been looking at items from www.ncix.com (Canadian store) and I've picked out some items.

4.) I'm on a pretty low budget, and I want to upgrade only using about $100-150 CA. What do you think of the DVD Writer I picked out, and is there any other ones on the list that look like a good deal?

5.) What are some things I should look for in a new Computer Case? Right now mine only has a couple 80mm slots, and I've only used one.
 
Well based on the Rig in your sig, I don't think you'd have to get a different power supply just because of the added optical drive. On the other hand, if you're going to get a new case anyway, get one with a decent power supply in it! After all a lot of Antec cases are basically free when you consider the cost of the PSU in them. Powermax is not recommended.

What are you looking for in a case: Better ventilation, window, smaller or larger, etc...? What do you have now? If you're just looking for something basic, you'd have a hell of a time beating this deal on this Antec Case w/350w PSU at Newegg for $58.99.

 
I have no idea what kind of case I have right now. I'm looking for some better ventilation, and maybe something that looks better. The one I have right now is VERY basic. Two 80mm case fan slots in the back, one of them occupied.

I'm looking at this one right now:

It comes with a 450W PSU but then looking at the reviews people say that it is really crappy, something about the PSU only have 5 connectors, and something saying that it might blow up.

I'm looking to pay up to around $70 CA for a new case. I come accross cases that seem pretty good, but then looking at the weaknesses in the strengths/weaknesses section makes me shy away from it.

The Antec case looks pretty good, you can't go wrong with Antec, but I'm not too keen on ordering hardware online; the shipping charges, the duty(?). Plus thats 58 USD, so add on an extra $10 or so.

I think I want a case with 120mm slots, theres a lot more advantages than 80mm.. right?
 
Ahh, Canadian Eh? If I were you, I'd read up on this thread; then get my butt over to http://www.tigerdirect.ca. They've got a huge selection, and no duties! Also, I'm not saying you have to change your PSU, but a case upgrade is a good opportunity to get a better one at a very cheap price.

*Edit* The main advantage of a 120mm is better airflow, with less noise. 1 120mm is better than the 2x80mm setups.
