Ok, so when I built this system I was on a very tight budget. Right now I have about 350 dollars of desposable income every two weeks and I would like to imporve my system a bit. Currently it is,

Windows XP home.

Seagate 350gb 7200rpm
Sound is onboard.
19" LG Flatron (4-5 years old)
22" W Samsung (about to order it for this two weeks disposable income http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001096 )
Edit: Antec NSK 6500 case and PSU (I love this case, but I should upgrade the PSU)

Any help will be appriciated.

I am also rocking a 17" HP CRT as my second monitor untill the new samsung gets here.

Think you need to tell the experts (not me), what you use your rig for.

Higher res monitors need more grunt power, dunno if thats going to be an issue but just a thought from lowly nub.

That's not a bad system, honestly. Upgrades you could do is the video card to a nvidia 8800gt, ati 3850/3870, or the new nvidia 9600. More ram too, looks like your board supports 4 slots, so you could drop in another 2g of ram -- XP would only see ~3.5g, but it would help.

More HD space is always nice.

I'd say video card and monitor would be your best bets. Figure about 160-200 for a vid card. Although your 7950 isn't bad.. you would see a bit of improvement, especially in games with the new monitor.

Might just want to save up for later on.

Depending on the games you play, you probably want to upgrade your graphics card after you get the 22' Samsung. Video cards to choose from are 8800gts G92 512mb, 8800gt 512mb, 9600gt 512mb, and hd3850 512mb for good gaming. The hd3850 is really meant for midrange gaming while the 8800gt and 9600gt will become the midrange once the new nvidia card's come out in a couple weeks or so.

if your going to upgrade the power supply, i would recommend either the 450vx or 550vx. they are usually cheaper at buy.com and clubit.com. 450vx seems like a right fit for your system and upgrades.

What do you do with this system?

Where do you see performance issues?

As of right now, if I were you, I'd only up the power supply just to be safer in the long run.

I play WoW alot and on fights with alot of aoe my FPS will drop to 20ish which is annoying *its normaly 50-60 fps everywhere but aoe fights*

I also play
pirates of the burning sea (no issues there)
Madden (no issues there)
Dreamfall (no issues there, aside from slow loading)
BioShock (some FPS issues at times, but generaly ok)
Call of Duty 4 (going to buy that tomorrow so don't know if I have issues there or not)

I am not a hardcore gamer, but I do enjoy games from time to time and I want my system to have no issues when I get new games.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Also, should I move on to vista now? When I was looking at it before I heard there were alot of issues with it, and if so should I get the 64 bit version of vista or just home pro or whatever it is?
