1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

He's a college student and a gamer. He mostly plays TF2 and COD.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included? $500, maybe more if we get a video card.

3) Where do you live? California.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, Proc, PSU if we get a video card. RAM, HD. MOBO.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. If we stay with the PSU, it's a CoolerMaster 480w

6) Will you be overclocking? Most likely.

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have? 23"

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? This week, unless there is some reason to wait.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? Just Good quality.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit? 7 64bit

He currently has a 5770. Might upgrade to a 6850.

Another question, what would be better, a 6850 or CF 5770s?
 
I prefer a single card solution crossfire at the moment in my opinion has some issues. I would also go with a single GTX 460 1GB costs less then the 6850
 
Sorry, aren't the 460 and 5770 pretty close in performance? That seems like it would be a waste of money.
 
Looking at benchmarks they seem similar, and we already have 1 5770. I'm just trying to make sure what's the best bang for my buck. Considering his resolution I thought CF would work well for him. Thanks for your help.
 
if you have another 5770 already I would just grab another 5770. i was thinking that u didnt have 1 already
