So I just got done upgrading my computer's mobo, cpu, ram, and video card. Everything went quite smoothly after getting all the drivers working.
For the first while the computer kept on shutting down basically every three minutes as I installed drivers. I managed to get through it though and it's quite stable at web-browsing stress. When I load a video game though I get the same shutdown (not restart) where the entire computer just turns off.
I know this is a common problem though I'm not sure where the common place is to begin the diagnosis. I'll include all the information I can think would be necessary, I apologize if I leave anything out.
-Windows XP
-Nothing is overclocked
-Stock cooling
-P4 E6400 2.13
-Gigabyte 965 ds3 mobo
-BFG 7600gt vid card
-Corsair xms2 2gb (2x 1bg) ddr2-800
-SATA LiteOn dvd-r/cd-r combo (yet to be hooked up, need an adapter)
-SATA Seagate hdd
-Antec True430 psu
http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=20430
Seeing that I increased such major parts of my system without upgrading the PSU I expect it's where my problem lies. Though I had a few people tell me that I should be ok and I'd just assume diagnose the entire system before going out and buying a new psu, unless maybe it's blatently the psu (which is why I'm posting!).
Any help would be much appreciated.
