How does the 5870 compare to the new line of cards from amd? i was curious if there are any benchmarks out there comparing the pref increase between the two cards and if it is worth getting the 6870 over the 5870?
 
6870 is equivalent to the 5770 line. unknown as to why other than to make it seem much better?
 
6870 performs slightly worse than 5870, typically no more than a few fps behind in most games. However, the CrossFire scaling is much much better for the new line of cards when compared to the 5000 series.

thats what i figured based on the price point. all the reviews i read didn't look that impressive either
