My rig is strictly for gaming, my sig is current. From what i've been reading, going i7 isn't going to net me that much more fps. I may upgrade to GTX280 SLI and ditch the 4870x2. With my e8400 at 4.1ghz, would it make sense to make the jump to DDR3/i7 or wait another 6 monthes or so for prices to drop and games that utilize 4 cores come out..?

Will my GTX280s be bottlenecked by my e8400 at 4.1ghz? I noticed a 10-15 fps increase in AoC going from my Q6600 at 3.6ghz to this e8400. Im gaming at 1920x1200 but might upgrade my monitor soon...

Your thoughts are appreciated :)
 
AFAIK, SLI scales much better with i7 platform, hasn't tried it myself. I went from e8500 @ 4ghz to i7 920 @ 4ghz, the difference seems to be night and day. Note though, I've never had a quad before so... :)
