Right now I'm using a LG L246WP-BN P-MVA Panel. The most important thing to me is color in a game. I like dark blacks and vibrant brights. Now in your opinion what are good options for a noticeable upgrade?

I don't mind if its 1920x1080 either.

I don't think you need to upgrade. Most 1920 x 1080 monitors uses TN panels which blacks are not as good as *VA or IPS panels in general.

If you are looking for a very good H-IPS monitor with very low input lag (<8ms), great colors and black, then I would recommend the 26" Planar PX2611w which I use as a secondary monitor. However, it's price tag is about $800.

Not sure what you mean by "vibrant" colors, I usually equate that with glossy screens. Colors in the Planar are difinitely nice and not over-saturated.

Thanks for the replies but that $800 i way out of my league. The Nec looks alright but how does it compare to the Dell U2410. Also, are there any other newer VA panels I should look out for?

I think if you already have a IPS/VA panel without any crippling flaws, then the only thing you're going to get from upgrading to another one is overdrive support (on *some* of the *very recent* displays) for lower response times, and if you pick the right panel, potentially lower input lag.

Are you happy with how the image on the screen syncs to the motion of your mouse hand? If so, then it's probably not gonna be a big improvement.

edit: Also, if you really like bright, vibrant color, there is the option of a wide gamut display. Most gamers hate them, they find the oversaturation headache-inducing. It's actually become hard to find a standard gamut display in the IPS/VA space - which is one of the reasons you'll hear "EA231WMi" so often rather than the whole range of IPS/VA panels.

Yea the sync motion is perfectly fine I just didn't know if there were any signifigant updates to the IPS/VA genre to make it worthwhile to upgrade.
