upgrade to HD 4850?

A friend is looking to sell his 4850 for $50. Since I'm pretty far behind in upgrading the video card (currently using a 4670 1GB), I'm curious if this would be a decent upgrade or if I should shell out another $100 and get something in the 6xxx range.

Thoughts?

At this point, my PC is used primarily for gaming (lots of BFBC2, occasional other games). Other activities have been moved to another machine.
 
You have a beefy CPU, you might have some benefits moving to a HD 6850/HD6870 which will be twice faster than the HD 4850 and 4 times faster than your current HD 4670, that's some serious speed bump!!
 
I would buy it. The 4850 has over double the shaders and double the memory bandwidth. Then go sell your card on ebay. If you get $30 for your card that's only a $20 upgrade cost.
I did a quick check and several are selling for even higher than $30 so there's a chance this could be an almost no cost upgrade, so really with that in mind this should be a no brainer.
 
Good stuff. I hadn't even thought about selling my 4670 as old as it is. I'll look into that this weekend.

The 4850 is a pretty old card but i'm not sure you could do better for the price.

I still run two of them in crossfire on a secondary rig and they run great, plenty fast in BC2.
