Is it a good time to invest in the next step of GPU's by buying a GF 295GTX, and if so, which brand (eVGA, nVidia, Zolatac etc)? Currently I have a Q6600@3,16, eVGA 8800GTS 512, 4GB of Ram, 24"@1920x1200. I'm an avid Crysis WarHead gamer, so while this setup would be more than enough for 90% of the games, for Crysis it's just 'ok'.
Also I dabble in 3D/simulation so only nVidias cards interests me because of PhysX.

If you have SLI ability in your mobo you'd do better to get 2x 285 GTX. Also I'm guessing you might need to upgrade your power supply unless the one you have right now is just super overkill for your system.

Personally, I usually go with EVGA, but they're not the only good company.

I have a Asus P5k mobo, so I can only Crossfire 2x ATI cards. Also I'm not a big fan of SLI/Crossfire GPU's. It's far more expensive, much more noisy, and consume more power, plus most games don't have a a great support of this technology from what I've heard, so most of the time you get just a little speed bump.

The GTX295 is an SLI setup...and really isn't worth the money at this point. If you want to spend a lot right now and have a great card, go with the GTX 280 or GTX 285. However, you can get a GTX 260 core 216 for very cheap now, and then upgrade to the next generation of cards whenever they come out. Even a GTX 260 would be a nice upgrade over an 8800GTS.
