My rig is the following:
P4 2.4B
MSI 845PE_Max-FISR
MSI GF-FX 5700 Ultra 128MB
Corsair-XMS 1GB
Since I just bought a 2005FPW (jumped on it for $560 shipped to CA) which is on order and to arrive by the 17th, I wanted to have the best video output possibe. I am going to order a 6600GT from newegg this week and was wondering if I should upgrade my mb, cpu, and ram. I am thinking my ram may be the bottleneck as it is only PC2700, but it is the Corsair XMS LL version which may help it a bit.
I play the following games: WoW, HL2, CS:S, Doom3, and Battle for Middle Earth. I can run WoW and LotR running the highest settings @ 1280x1024. I can run HL2 and CS:S fairly well. But D3 is where I can only run at medium/low settings. The fps games can only run at 8x6 if I want smoothness and decent frame rate.
My question is, all the talk about the 6600GT being phenomenal for the price, will it be enough to run all games at eye candy level with my current setup or should I upgrade the mb, cpu, and ram? Thanks for any suggestions.
