currently I have an old GeForce 3 cards that was top of the line when I bought it. I paid $399 for it back around 2000 or so. Anyway, it's not doing so well on some of the newer games that are coming out and I figure it's time to upgrade. I'd like something that cna play modern games fairly well but I don't want to break the bank. What's about the best AGP card I can get for under $399?

oh yea, and I'd prefer it was fairly quiet. I'd like something that is fast but I don't want to have an airplane engine cranking out of my case.

Are you getting a whole PCIe system, or sticking with the AGP? My advice is to wait and buy the $399 card that's going to be out when the next generation comes.

that's a tough call. I'm waiting for higher FSB speeds to upgrade my whole system so I'm just trying to upgrade the video card right now to work with civilization IV.
