Like others, due to bad economic times and other issues, have not been in the gpu market for a while. I currently have a 3870 x2....my question is ...what is a good graphics card today...

eyeing the 6870....any experiences...also are any of ati cards dual gpu anymore?
 
I would say that the 6870 is a great upgrade from a 3870x2. You might be better off saving the money and getting the OC beast of the east 6950. You can basically get them to out perform the 6970.
 
Lots of good options out there but you didnt give a price range.

6870 and 6950 are both good values. 460 1GB is good too if you want to save some money.

About the dual gpu card, ATI had the oft maligned 5970 and the rumored 6990 should be out this quarter.
