Hi [H]ers,

I'm not quite sure if this should be in the general hardware or cooling section.
My question is this. Look at my current setup (see my sig). Let's say a was able to bump into $400 buck right now, to spend on my system, would you recommend a

[1] Second EVGA GTX 670 FTW for SLI
or
[2] XSPC Raystorm D5 RX240 kit plus EVGA GTX 680 Waterblock (for my 670 FTW)

I don't have the money yet. I'm looking to convince my girlfriend to let my buy my christmas present early ;). I would rather have a second 670 right now cos I have three 26 inch monitors in surround. Mostly playing Dirt 3 right now and with adaptive vsync on the card temps stay 55-58C. I have also had a few driver crashes and I'm hoping a second card will reduce that since one card will not be working quite as hard. However, my 2500K have been idling a little bit higher than when I first installed the HR-02 Macho. Initially it'll idle at 29C and my max gaming temps where around 46C (Intel burn test max 64C and Prime95 61C after 4hrs). Now my idle temps are around 35C and I got done gaming a few nights ago and checked out my high/low temps on Coretemp and it was 55C. I haven't done Prime95 or the burntest recently, so I don't know where they are now. The PC is in the same place it's been, down in my basement. I used Arctic Silver 5 for the Macho. This is why I'm considering watercooling instead of a second video card. My case is a HAF 912. I currently have two CoolerMaster 200mm intake fans at full blast (1 in front and 1 on top). I have a Cougar CF-V12HP 120mm intake fan on the side at full blast to provide air to the video card in addition to the front intake. For exhaust I have a 120mm fan in the rear (almost direct exhaust for the HR-02 Macho) and basically the exhaust from the reference design video card. I really want a second video card, but I'm concerned their temps might be worse for being so close together (reference card - I was getting reference card(s) with the hope watercooling).

So what do you think? 1 or 2? Should I have my fans in a different configuration? (I have a second Cougar fan laying around)
 
Yhe fact that you're having driver crashes with just one GPU means that you have an inherent issue with your setup that's either software or hardware related. It's not a case of your GPU being pushed too hard. In fact, having two GPUs will more than likely exacerbate the driver crashes. So in other words, until you can fix that driver issue, it would be a really stupid idea to add a second GTX 670. So find out what exactly are causing those driver crashes.

So my answer is neither.
 
Neither wasn't an option.
I'm working on figuring out the crashes. I downloaded driver fusion cos I previously had a 6850 but I haven't had time to run it yet. I'm guessing that's the problem.
