Upgrade Question about Alienware Area 51

I have an old P4 3.4 With 2GB of DDR PC3200 an ATI 9600 card. What can I upgrade? Can this machine accept a core 2 duo processor, and a better GPU? Looking for a solution short of a whole new Notebook.

you can't upgrade to a core 2 duo processor for sure , only thing it will be able to take is a higher p4
as for the video card , you need to find out if its mxm or not - MAYBE able to up it to a ATI 9800 an thats it ....

best best is buying a entire new lappy
 
basically what ^ mentioned

find out the interface of the video card (which i think is mxm since that seems to be the standard for the alienware notebooks) and find out what was the max your model could run and buy that.
