Ok so this was my current setup.. amd 2400+ abit kd7-raid 512 crucial pc 2700, 9800 pro..... 40 gigg Western digital

I install amd 3200+ 64 bit, msi neo plat, 1 gig ocz dual chan ram.......

I tried 5 hard drives after windows install.. windows unable to load oss..

whats the problem??
 
Did you uninstall the mobo chipset drivers? that might be the problem.

If that's not it, you may need to reinstall Windows. I had a similar problem...
 
well after format .. the farthest i have been able to get to. is almost all the way install windows.... but it hasn''t been able to get to windows fully..... ive tried 5 hardd drives
 
Unable to boot windows... or ill get another error... what could the problem be!?... i have no clue .. ive tried windowss pro install and win64 beta install
 
you have a disk error. I'm assuming that you are using PATA hard-drives since you did not mention anything else.

If you did use SATA drives, make sure that you are loading the drivers that came on the floppy disk.

Also you should doublecheck all connections on the PSU. Make sure you ahve the aux processor power (the square 4-pin dealie-o) plugged in. Also, a64 are a tad more hungry for power, so hopefully yer not trying it with a no-name 250 watter or something. :)

Also check your memory, get memtest86 and make sure thats not the issue.

Check the basics, disable all onboard items except what is absolutely vital.
Instal windows with vid-card only (no other PCI cards).
 
I just spoke to her on the phone and she said that its a PATA drive. Its got the jumper on master.

Its most likely a generic PSU. She's got no way of getting online right now so I'm gonna be posting for her and trying what I know. I'll try to get everything off the board but the video and test that. Thanks
 
have you checked the window's CD for scratches? it could have a big scratch over some very important data, and it's un-able to read it....
 
I tried a fresh windows 64 bit beta cd.. and a win xp pro cd... it formats and gets the files but then when it reboots it gets the "error loading operating system"

Any buddy have any idea??
 
Have you tried loading the defaults in the BIOS, I had made a bunch of changes in there. When I had the MB I was only using SATA drives and had the DVD drives on the IDE channels. Also make sure the ram is in the two slots next to the Processor.
 
I reset the bios.... and i only got 1 ide hard drive runing western digital 40 gig....... i have the ram in the first and third slots.. both green ones.. for dual channel ... no luck :(
 
dual channel isn't both green slots. for dual channel you need one in the Purple slot
 
I had a similar problem after an upgrade. Try setting the jumper on the back of the hard drive to cable select instead of master. Even though I only had one drive installed I could not get through windows install until I set the hard drive to cable select. I guess the motherboard didn't like it set to master.
