HI!

I'll be upgrading in a few weeks and I need some advice.

I'm currently using a dual Athlon mp1800. If i decide to get faster
MP chips (a pair of mp2800+ Barton), I'll be getting larger cache
and faster chips but I'll still be at 266fsb.

However if I decide to go single CPU (P4 800fsb, AMDxp 333 and
400fsb or even Athlon64) then I'm getting newer chipsets, faster
chips with larger cache and fsb and the option of using SATA
drives.

At this point is it worth it to stay with my dualy?

If I go single and sell my old dual Athlon, I'll dispose of about
$1700 cdn. This rig's main purpose would be for Photoshop, Illus-
trator and some gaming in my spare time.

Thanx!

sata is a waist, it isn't being utilized yet. In a raid environment you might see a use for it, but invest that money into your procs. I would say you might be able to come out on top getting the fastest dual set you can, single chips have stagnated lately, no new ones being released :(
