Ok,I need some justification or maybe some persuasion.I'm looking to upgrade my GPU,I'm running a 4870X2 now and gaming at 1900X1200.I have been thinking of going to a 570GTX or 6970 and then possibly adding another down the road.I don't really need to be cutting edge but will I see some ridiculous gains or am I deluding myself just to satisfy my upgrade bug?I would love to have some opinions please.Thanks
 
Depends on the games you play. While most developers are still using the 360 and PS3 as their lead platforms, that setup still has the muscle to play current games well.

On the other hand sticking those two on ebay will offset the cost of a better single card solution that will save on heat and power.
 
Yes the performance gains would be very significant, but its good practice to put off buying a graphics card until you ABSOLUTELY need to upgrade. As long as the games you currently have are playable at reasonable settings, i would recommend waiting.
