i want ddr500 for a better overclocking :)

You dont need any more then PC3200 or PC3500 at the most to overclock an Athlon XP. PC3700 and higher has bad timings which hurts performance.

Stick to quality brands like Mushkin, Kingston, and Corsair. You dont want data corruption on your hard drives from errors in your RAM do you?

If your motherboard supports the 2600+, go for it, otherwise its not worth the money to get the new proc and mobo.

Go to newegg.com and get a mobile athlon 2400 for $77. Oc it to 2.3-2.5. Great upgrade for a little price. As for the RAM, stick with what the guy above says PC3200-3500 and limit it to Mushkin, Corsair, Crucial, or Kingston. Get a dual pack and use the dual channel option on your board. The mobile is a worthy upgrade because it's multiplier is unlocked and you can get a good stable 25% oc with relative ease...
