Budget: 800-1000

I can potentially reuse my Cooler Master CM 690 II and my PSU.

Current Build:
I5 760 @ 2.8Ghz, Asus P7P55D-E Pro, Sapphire Radeon HD 6870, G.SKILL 8GB F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ, 1TB, Corsair 650TX, Windows 7 X64

Potential Build:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WD6v23 (easier to link)

Uses: Gaming - WoW, Random FPS's

Questions:

Should I just upgrade my GPU and add a SSD to my current rig?
I know I will see a performance increase by purchasing a new rig, but does it warrant the price tag?
What can I do to bring the price down a bit on the potential build?
Should I wait till the GTX760's come out to upgrade/new build?
Will I see a significant performance increase if I rebuild and use a FX8320 instead of the I5-4430?

How old is your PSU?

How much (at most) would you spend on parts (regardless of whether you go with a new build or upgrades)?

Which FPS games do you play? At what level of visual quality?

PSU is from 2009-2010

I am willing to spend up to 1k on parts.

I play some BF4 now and again currently on medium. Would rather have every game I play on high or ultra.

I would buy the gpu and ssd now, see if that gets you the desired level of performance. If not, buy the rest of the items and go full rebuild. Imo, grab a good custom cooled 290x, or possibly a gtx 970, and good ssd in the 240 gb range. I would bet you'll be pretty happy with that upgrade for quite a while.

Yes, get the GPU and SSD now and see if the improvement in performance is sufficient. I would suggest you go for a 250 GB SSD

is that the default clock speed for that cpu? If so, u tried to oc?

I have a pretty much identical build heh.

An SSD should be your number one priority. It really is a game changer....

It seems Crucial MX100 drives offer the best price/performance atm etc.

Next is GPU obviously.... I'd say, a non-reference AMD 290/290x or an Nvidia 970 are your best options.

Might as well upgrade since you have the funds to do a full upgrade. Part out that system as you'll only get less for it the longer you wait.

I'd reuse the case though. Nothing wrong with the CM 690 II unless you want USB 3.0 ports on the front/top of it. In which case you could just buy the updated version from Cooler Master and install it yourself.

Getting an SSD will not give you ANY performance increase in game what-so-ever. Your frames will remain identical and thus you'll still be playing at the same quality. The only difference is they'll load faster. A GPU will give you the biggest performance boost.

ok, get the ssd so your applications will be peppier. And your game loading times.

I'd like to think your next upgrade is a VC....ram perhaps? Already forgot how much u have :)
