Upgrade on a budget...memory!

Hi folks

I'm looking at doing a "low" cost upgrade on my PC.

Hopefully getting Asus P6X58D-E (or dropping down to Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2) and 2.8GHz Intel Core i5-760.

My question is regarding memory. My current PC has 8GB (4 x 2GB) of RAM. I'd like to reuse it to save myself a few hundred quid. Is that acceptable?

Thanks

Pretty rubbish

G.Skill F2-8500CL5-2GBPK (PC2-6400 400MHz) x 2
and
OCZ OCZ2RPR10662G (PC2-6400 400MHz) x 2

I know I should upgrade. Will 6GB of new stuff be better than the 8GB I currently have?

Thanks

well both of those boards use ddr3 only so I think upgrading is the only choice. I might take a pair off your hand if you decide to go ddr3 :)

Think I'll hold off upgrading until I can buy the extra ram then!

It all mounts up, just for a CPU boost...
