I run a lan party and I am in need of another server right now.

LAN Server Specs:
Motherboard: MSI KM2M VIA KM266 Chipset Based
Processor: AMD Athlon XP Pro 2200+ @ 1.80GHz
RAM: Kingston PC 2700 2x1GB ValueRAM
Optical Drive: Sony 16x DVD-Rom
Hard Drive: Seagate 80GB 8mb cache 7200rpm IDE
Operating System: Windows XP Pro SP1 (soon to change to Windows Server 2003)

This server acts as my DHCP and DNS server for the lan, holds files - patches, demos, etc, and is the host for the intranet website with information regarding the operations of the lan. (if something is overkill / underkill, tell me, I'm still learning)

My original though, was dump this whole PC - minus the 80gb hard drive, sound card, and -RW - into a new case and begin forming a new computer. I have been thinking an awful lot on the decision, and was wondering why couldn't I just upgrade what's needed?

I am bouncing around a couple of upgrade decisions regardless of what i do:

64-bit? or 32-bit? If i get 64 bit - how long into mainstream 64bit stuff untill i need to upgade again?
tons of hard drive space and backup (SATA RAID?) and a cd-rw (no need for dvd rw yet)? or 80gb hard drive and burn everything to dvds? or even better, build a rackmount file server?

I do alot of gaming, web development, home studio, entertainment (ripping cds/movies/ watching stuff),and other tasks. I don't really know where to go right now. Money is kind of an issue or else I wouldn't be hear asking the questions. I'm thinking under 800 USD is my limit as I am still working for the summer and just got a 5 day paycheck of 214 USD.

I'm all ears to suggestions on anything stated above.
 
When I do LAN's, for a DHCP/filer server, I just use an old Pentium 233 with 256 megs of good 'ol PC100 RAM.

You don't need power for IP assigning and hosting patches. :)
