Upgrade my 5850?

Currently have a 5850 with an i5 and 8gb mem.
With BF3 out now and the fact that I have had the 5850 for around 2 years I have the itch to upgrade. Would the 6950 2gb be worth the $250 proce tag or just a waste of money?
 
Assuming you are running at 1920x1080/1200? That's not a huge upgrade. I went from a 5870 -> 2x 6950's due to the good resale value during the bitcoin craze, more vram for eyefinity, and much better scaling in crossfire. If I were to stay single card/monitor I wouldn't have upgraded.
 
Why don't you add another 5850 if your board supports crossfire? This will give you a much bigger boost than going to a 6950.
 
1 6950 is a waste.

Sell the 5850 and buy 2 6870 2gb cards for 179$ AR each on newegg.
Thats a upgrade! :)
 
Would also be good to know what CPU you have, and if its bottle-necking your performance.

Upgraded from an HD5850 to a 6970 and im very happy with the upgrade @ 1080p
