upgrade my 4870

For my sig rig. I am probably going to move the 4870 to my fiance's new machine and upgrade this one to stretch more time out of it. What to go to? I don't wanna break the bank (I'll go used if I can), and Crossfire doesn't scare me at all. What do you guys recommend? 6870? 5770x2? I haven't kept up since I didn't need to, but it WILL be AMD card(s).

Need to mention, some gaming, dual 1920x1200 monitors, and I like quiet. Power or cooling are not issues as I have a good PSU, and great airflow.
 
Dual monitors shouldn't matter much since 2x1 is useless for almost all gaming. I run two displays but shut one off while gaming. Anything in the 6800 series or above is good for a single 1920 monitor right now. Get a 6950 if you can. The reference are a bit loud though. if you want quiet then something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150521 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150523 is how I would go. that dual fan 6870 is very quiet and sufficient for current single monitor games. For the price I would go with the 6950 though. It is worth the extra price and isn't much louder.
