Seeing as I've come upon some spare cash, and my computer has aged a bit, I'm thinking of doing an upgrade. I'm concentrating on upgrading my video card, cpu, and obviously the motherboard. Currently I'm running a Core 2 Duo 775 3.0 GHz with an EVGA gtx260 216. I am focusing on upgrading to an i5-2500k, Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3, and a EVGA GTX 560ti for the upgrade. Still performs pretty well in my gaming, likely because of the video card, not the CPU. However, knowing Battlefield and DICE games, Battlefield 3 will command a lot of resources to run effectively, online especially. I'm hoping to at least satisfy the game's hunger for computing power. I was initially looking into the 460, but I figured it's better off jumping to the 500 series, especially when partnered with the new CPU.

I'm planning for Battlefield 3, and play SC2 as well as some valve games such as TF2. From most of what I have seen on the boards, this seems like a fairly good upgrade, in performance measures as well as timeliness. Would that assumption be fair? This is essentially the extent of what my budget will allow for right now. If you have any input (approval or critical) I'd appreciate it. I just thought to get some outside opinions before making the plunge.
