I have several options here but I am a bit hesitant on a couple.
Current rig: E8400@4.0, 9800 gtx, Corsair 650 and 4gigs of ram, Samsung 19” widescreen.
Now option one is to scrap it and give it to my daughter as a B-Day present and buy daddy a new Core I7 with two 4870 512’s and 6 gigs of DDR3. Also a 24” display.
Option 2 is an upgrade to an SLI format and buy another 9800 gtx and the monitor. Not really thrilled there though.
Option 3 and the one I am really leaning towards is a 4870x2 or the new gtx295 and buy the 24-28” monitor.

It kind of shed a bit of light on the new tech and what I want may not be what I really need. So if you have any insight on what you would do let me know please. Oh also my wife is willing to let me upgrade to Core I7 later this year, for Christmas or this summer. Thanks all.
 
I say go with Option 1, but instead of the two 4870s, just get the X2/GTX295. OR Option 1 with two X2s or two gtx295s.
