Hello all, i am looking for a new GPU able to run crysis on max setting with 4xAA with no less then 30 FPS.

ATM my gpu i can get around 40 fps @ high settings but @ times it will dip to 12fps :(

rez is 1680x1050

PS i have a xfire board if i need to xfire but atm a 260 192 core that i got from my friend

Thanks

Everyones going to tell you to wait for the 5870.

If you absolutely must upgrade now or don't care about the next generation, 2 4870 1Gbs in Crossfire is probably the cheapest/fastest setup you'll find. Otherwise though it's probably worth it to wait for the 5870.

Hello thanks for the reply, i can wate if need be. Will the new GPU the 5870 be faster then 2 4870 in Xfire ?

The 5870 will be DX11 so maybe that will be worth it when i upgrade to Win 7 so i have a DX11 setup for newer games

Oh BTW will my 620HX push to 4870 in xfire ? i belive it will but others said no just trying to get more input on it

Thanks

I'd also suggest waiting. It's hard to say at this point in time if the 5870 will be faster than 2x4870, but since you're waiting you'll have the knowledge on hand to make the right choice when the time comes.

Yeah I think that'll be fine for the 4870 considering you're running a dual core. However; if you step up to an i7 or something and want to run dual video cards you might be looking at a power supply upgrade depending on your number of drives/fans/etc.
