1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming. Bad Company 2, Starcraft 2, Most things to be released by BioWare/Blizzard.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Trying to stay around 400-500 Euros (tax is always included over here, shipping tends to be free)

3) Where do you live?
Germany

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU, RAM, Mainboard, GPU

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
PSU Corsair HX520, Case Antec P182, some 1TB Samsung HDD

6) Will you be overclocking?
If it's convenient, sure.

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
Dell U2410, 1920x1200

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Now

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
Only the basics

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Windows 7 Professional x64

I'm currently thinking about:

i5 2500K - 180 Euro
Some Currently Unavailable Motherboard (TM) - 130 Euro
Corsair XMS3 8GB - 70 Euro
Gigabyte GTX 460 1GB - 160 Euro

= 540 Euro

Alternative AMD build to save some money (not sure if it's worth it)

AMD Phenom X4 955 - 110 Euro
Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 - 90 Euro
Corsair XMS3 8GB - 70 Euro
Gigabyte GTX 460 1GB - 160 Euro

= 430 Euro

What do you think? See my signature for the current build, slightly out of date since I went from a 1440x900 display to the current one.

Thanks in advance for opinions and suggestions.

Dropping to the AMD build is not worth saving $100 Euro, no, I wouldn't say so. That said, at 1920x1200 if you can get a stronger GPU than the GTX 460 with the money saved from going AMD, you might be better off. As hossdaddy said, a 6950 2GB would be ideal, but I don't know what they're going for over there. Prices here in the US have dropped substantially in the last month or so, hopefully similar drops are headed your way.
