I know my cpu is still good. But having same pc for past 5 years, i can't resist anymore.

1-Skylake 6700K

2-Haswell-e 5820K

about same price for cpu/memory/mobo, about same oc 4.5-4.7, similar performance but more core for future-proof?

What would your pick? with dx12 games on horizon would haswell-e be better option?

Yeah, I'd go the cheap Westmere if that's an option (will hold you over until Skylake-E is available), or barring that I'd go 5820k. Average 5820k overclock is around 4.3 on air:

Might as well go with the 6 core option (especially if you have a Microcenter near you). The 4790k was only a viable alternative when you had to pay double for DDR4, but now that that's disappeared, I'd recommend Haswell-E!

As long as you're not a hardcore 120 Hz enthusiast, I don't think you'd miss the small single-threaded performance increase with Skylake.

And it will still give you a massive single-threaded performance increase with Haswell-E: I'd guesstimate about 40% faster at 4.3 GHz.
