OK so my Asus 460 768mb is getting a bit long in the tooth and starting to stutter with some of my recent game purchases such as Serious Sam3 and NFS most wanted.
System specs are, Dual xeon L5640's@ 2.4, Asus server Z8NA mobo, Asus GTX 460 768mb, 12gb Ram, corsair HX1000 PSU, monitor runs at 1920x1080. No SLI and no multi monitor setup

The CPU's are going to get upgraded at some point later on in the year probably to x5670's running at 3.2 so i'm pondering a 660ti although i could stretch to a 670 if cheap enough. Thoughts, options? Budget is ~£200 and i'm in the UK so no MIR's

I'm assuming you are wanting to possibly fold on the gpu when not gaming. If so then it's Nvidia all the way.

From a folding perspective you won't see much difference between the 660Ti and 670, but in gaming the 670 is a better card.

Also, I know you are going to upgrade your cpus in the future, but for now they will bottleneck a faster GPU so you won't see big gains immediately in gaming.

Anyway, I have 2 Gigabyte 660 Ti cards and they are super quiet, overclock like crazy and run very cool. The only problem seems to be they don't sell for cheap enough in the UK to fit your budget. I did find this EVGA card that's close to your budget: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-197-EA&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=2379

That asus is a nice card. Should run nice and cool even when overclocked.

Well, i guess thats sorted then. Just need to wait for funds to become available in the middle of the week and i'm good to go

Either way whichever card you choose 660 Ti or 670 you will have much better performance than what you were getting with the 460
