Upgrade CPU or Vid card?

I have a athlonxp 2500 and a radeon 9500

What should I upgrade in trying to spend the least amount of $$ possible? And what should i upgrade to?

This is for HL2 btw (obviously)
 
video card. I am still cruizing along with my o/c'd +2500 and can run the detail on most games ( d3, hl2, far cry ) up to near max with a hefty helping of AF @ 1024x768. Kinda a lower rez than I am used to but it works well.
 
You're going to hear this card mentioned a lot: 6600GT. Clocking in at $199 RRP, but on general sale for a little more.

All round a better performer than the 9800Pro
 
BFG 6800 OC then unlock the pipes and OC it if possible. Black Friday is just around the corner though. You might wait to see what happens. 6800GT is rumored to be sold for $299 then.
