I have been trying to read the various threads but I am getting confused with all of the choices.

I currently have a 4870 with a 1080P monitor that I do not plan on changing anytime soon so I just need some help deciding on a card that would be a nice upgrade from what I have. I just don't know between the 6950, 6870, 460, 465, 470 or whatever else out there. I could use a little help.
 
if you are not going to run a sig then list ALL your specs when asking for upgrade advice.
 
if you are happy using AMD products then I would jut go with a 6950. the 6870 may not give you all that big of a jump but if you can get one pretty cheap then its a decent card. the 465 was a turd because it had all the downsides of gf100 while performing no better than a gtx460. a gtx470 can be had for a good price but they too run pretty hot, power hungry and loud compared to a nearly equally performing 6870.
 
The OP is asking about the difference between the VC's he listed. His specs are not required to answer.

The question that should be asked, if do you game? What resolution do you play at? What type of games do you play? (I ask this) cause most people say world of warcraft, and that game is like 6 years old?

his specs are relevant because he is wanting to upgrade his video card. showing how they perform with an i7 would be of little use if he happened to have an otherwise outdated/slow system or an insufficient psu. and how fast a card is would not be the only info he would need. noise, power consumption and other aspects are also important factors in purchasing a card.
 
I definitely game at 1920x1080 on more recent games as well. I want something that will be able to use with a new system that I am planning on building sometime next year but have and opportunity to get a new card now at almost no cost to me as long as I stick in this rage. Current PSU is an Antec 1000 so I think I should be fine on that front. Thanks for the info guys.
