Hello, I am at the edge of my seat about to purchase a new video card, and was hoping to get some [H]ard factual assistance. As you see in my sig below I have an 8800GTS 640MB that I am itching to replace. I am on the fence over the following:

GTX 260 Core 216
GTX 275
4850 HD X2 2GB RAM

Assuming I will in the future SLI if I purchase the Nvidia cards, what advice might you have for this venture?

I would stay away from the 4850X2. Proprietary drivers, lackluster performance, large size (11"), etc. At 1920x1080 or below you would be well served by either the GTX 260 or 275. Get whatever you can afford.

Yeah I just eliminated the Radeon from the list, too unpredictable little OC value from what I gather. Is there a next gen option being released in the near future?

Funny, that's the exact page I have open in the next tab, that I was reading just before I checked in here. Indeed that is looking like a very good candidate....

I like the 4890 but it seems that they trade blows depending on the game. Also, since you have an sli ready board probably better to stick with nvidia.

My concern is that there is an upgrade on the horizon, can anyone confirm or deny this?

Ahhh, NewEgg charging shipping on that MSI card >.<
