Hello everyone! I would like to upgrade my PC but with so many options I'm not exactly sure which rout to take to get the best price/performance ratio. I don't overclock and I want a machine that is good at video editing and playing HL2, Call of Duty 2, and AOE 3 when they are released. I would like to know whether I should

A: Buy a good AGP Graphics card and hold out for future GPU innovations ($300)
B: Invest in a good SLI system right now (A8N-SLI, 3500+, dual 6800 GTs) ($1200)
C: Do nothing and see what the future holds!

you have a good system. Get an upgrade for your vid card. what ever is your preference. You shauld be good for some time. I am a Geforce fan. Grab a 6800gt or ultra.Might consider upping to 3500+ or 3800+ for more horsepower??
 
They now have pci-express socket 754 motherboards out. I would get one of those and a 6800GT or a 800XL for now.
 
Yeah, one of my considerations was purchasing a Leadtek 6800 GT for $303. I can't upgrade to a 3500 or 3800 because I have a socket 754 mobo. Also, I've had difficulty overclocking my CPU past 2.2 GHz, most likely because of my Samsung Ram. However, I prefer stability over speed, so I rarely overclock unless I am trying to get a good 3dMark score or something. The timings on my ram are 3-3-3-8. Is there any benefit to purchasing faster ram if you don't overclock?
 
I'd say stick with your current system for now and wait till after summer, say september, and do a system upgrade then (CPU, Motherboard, Memory, Graphic card)
Both ATI and Nvidia will release new graphic cards very soon and ATI will probably come out with their SLI- system too so if you wait a cupple of months more prices will have dropped and there will be the next generation to choose from as well.

The system you have now isn't bad in any way and should be enough for some time yet, but if you are hellbent on an upgrade then a better graphic card would be the way to go, something like a geforce 6800GT or ATI X800XT
