Hi all,

I am thinking of upgrading my current system:
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 650 3.4GHz Socket LGA775, 2MB, EM64T, BOXED w/fan
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-8N SLI Pro,nVidia,Socket-775, ATX, SATAII, GbLAN, DDR2, 2XPCI-Ex16
Memory: (2x512) XP2-6400 - DDR Xtreme Performance Frequency: 800Mhz Latency: 5-3-3-8
Power Supply: Antec Neo480W
GFX: Gainward GeForce 7800GTX 256MB 2xDVI PCI-Express, "U/3500PCX XP GS" ViVo, 470MHz
Harddisk: 2x Seagate 750GB SATA2

I don't intend to replace the hard disks and would (if feasable) like to keep the power supply as well. The rest will probably have to go.

Main usage is browsing, photo editing (Photoshop CS3 and Nikon Capture NX) and playing games (it should be able to play current games like Crysis or Bioshock).

Any advice appreciated!

Here are a few of my suggestions to you:

CPU - Dual-core OR Quad-core

Motherboard - Anything with updated chipset, like 780i or 790i

Memory - 1066Mhz, with timings like 5-5-5-15 OR 4-4-4-12 (something where the first three timing clocks are close or equal to the fouth number)

Video card - 9600 GT (Factory overclocked cards too)

Hard Drive - Seagate SATA

With a configuration like that, you would tear up Crysis, especially BIOSHOCK! (Love that game)
