Hey i was thinking of building a new pc sometime between this month and novemeber my budget is $1,200 anyone find anything cheaper or better?. i wanna play doom3 eq2 and hl2 maybe anything budget idont care anymore i just wanna get my old pc outta the way :-@

do you have a proposal that we are supposed to analyze? i got hat sense from what you said.

PS - delete hte extra thread
PPS - dont you think its somewhat ironic that your name is ati!!!!!!, yet you own an nvidia card and if you're speding 1200 will (and should) probably end up with a 6800GT?

What will you be doing other than playing games?

If you won't be doing much else then an AMD 64 will probably be perfect for you. Do they make AMD 64 dualy mobo's? Never really thought to check. If they do get one with one cpu, and then later on you can get a second cpu if you wish. a gig of pc 3500 ram at 2-2-2 timings in dual channel, raided 120 gig HD's if you are into that kinda thing if not a 250 giger would do you, a WD 8 meg cache SATA drive. An ATi Radeon X800 XTPE or a 6800 GT would have you set for at least a year as nearly top of the middle-line.

On that budget going top of the line would be easy. Getting a water cooling setup would be feasible as well.
