I have a GeForce gt 430 from pny with 1 gig memory, it has served me well but it's old and starting to over heat frequently and I don't feel like hassling with the thermal paste. I am not a big computer gamer I am fine as long as a game runs even on bare minimal settings. So I was wondering If I could get by with just upgrading to the gt 600 series since there about $60 or $70 now. Will that make much of a difference?

Any card recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks!

750 just came out, might be worth looking into, first Maxwells.
I'd recommend a GTX 750 1GB, too. They're just a little more expensive than a 650 but have up to 1.5x the performance. You may also want to grab one sooner than later before the mining inflation gets too bad.

I Really don't want to go over 100 dollars, my gt 430 ran crysis 2 and far cry 3 alright on low settings. Also are you saying there is a gt 750 or a gtx750 cause all I can find are gtx 750 they are all $130 dollars.

If you can wait a few weeks, the AMD 675 comes out, which should lead to price drops. Which might get you more bang for your $100.

I think the motherboard I have is made to work better with nvidia cards, never used a Radeon card before unless a stock comp I had came with one I didn't know.

Nah, it won't make any difference. nVidia doesn't have anything at that price point that is even close to the 7770.
