Updates Wont Install In XP Pro 32-Bit SP3

Ever since I installed SP3, my updates do not install.

What gives?
 
I had a couple that wouldn't install until like the 4th try. Try doing them individually or restarting between attempts?
 
I'm so glad you posted that. I thought it was just me. I reinstalled 3 laptops here at work and all 3 had exactly the same problem. I thought at first it was a virus because my thumbdrive recently got affected by an autorun virus which disables microsoft's webpages (it'll redirect to a fake "page not found" page). HiJackThis detected it and fixed it for me, but ever since, WindowsUpdate would give me that error.

Reinstalling again did the trick for me. I didn't have time to dick with the WSUS service as the 3 laptops needed to be out the door by that afternoon.

I want to try to reproduce that issue again to see if it can be fixed in case someone else come across it. I don't want to have to reinstall 57 laptops and computers in the company!
