I think this should go here but i'm not sure.
I updated from ME to XP pro. since then i've tried to install the newer tivo desktop that will allow me to download shows off my tivo. before i couldn't becuase it didn't support ME. it prompts me that i need to uninstall the old tivo server before i can install the new one, so i press ok and when i do i get an error it's 1606. i've done google searches and i pretty much know whats going on but i can't seem to get it fixed. so basically when i upgraded i put in the user name and it was first and last name as opposed to just first name as it was on ME, so when i try to uninstall it says it can't find the specified location. i have no idea what to do, i can't re-name the new documents and settingsf folder or move it because, well for obvious reasons. i've gone through and deleted any trace of tivo server that i could find on the machine and even when through the registry to try to re-route the service to the right place but to no avail. i've seen some suggestions pertaining to the registry and have tried them but none of them seem to work. does anyone know a way around this? i HAVE to get my shows off my boX!!!
thanks in advance for any help.
