Ok all brilliant minds, time to help me see what I am missing.

I have a 9500/9700NP card, flawlessly water cooled for over a year now. I just got my hand on a tested known good card, 9700 Pro (ATI).

I go to install it on my known good 2 week old IC7-max3 board, and I get fuzzy video, lines going through the BIOS POST, all the way through windows. They will not go away! Resetting the CMOS did not help either. :(

I went back to the old card, and it works fine. I know I can test it in another system, but don't have one readily available at the moment. (my roommate is in paranoia stage). Someone have any ideas of what could be happening?

I know that default AGP is 8x on the board, and there were issues with 9700Pros on 8x, but I dont think that my version, (revision 3) had that issue. any help on this is good stuff. Thanx!

You can close this thread. I tried on known good PC, VGA card still garbled. Case closed.
