I have new hosting now, here is a page with all of the images so far:

www.zackx2.com/Mods/Ninja/

I dont have time to set up a post explaining everything but the pictures do go from oldest to newest, so if anything changes (for the worse) then I have obviously decided to repaint or Ive found something different to do that looks better IMO.

I thought I might add that the picture doesnt do the front panel justice. It has a "shimmering" look to it in person, and its a crimson metal red. Looks amazing IMO... which is why Im pissed about having to repaint so it will stick better... =/.

I am going to sand all the duplicolor off, prime it, paint it with chrome paint, then paint the duplicolor metalcast back on it. Hopefully the primer will make the chrome stick, and then the chrome will make the metalcast stick... all while achieving the same shimmering look (if I can pull it off). Will also paint the CDrom in this fashion as well... haha. My dvd burner has been painted red for like 3 years.

Looking good. Try an etching primer for painting bare metal, it sticks a lot better than ordinary primer/paint, then carry on as normal.

How long ago did you paint it?

I painted a PSU, and inside of a case with that stuff, and it is sticking fine here. Maybe it's not fully cured yet?

I wouldn't prime before using that paint. It's meant to be used over bare metal, and you'll lose the effect over anything else. From experience I can tell you that chrome paints suck. Alcad chrome paints work really well, but only on a smooth as glass surface. Alcad paints are delicate though, and lose the chrome look when they're clearcoated, or anything else.

Well, I have a fangrill that I painted in the same fashion as the front about 6 or 7 months ago. The paint on the grill scratches off just as easily =(. Ive already bought some filler primer to fill in the texture I put on the front panel, as well as some metalcast ground coat to put on before the metalcast red.

Bump - first post replaced with update to save bandwidth

Again Tengis, I love this case no matter how longs its taken you to do it. I must tell you though I dont like how the front is looking. The pictures are really dark but it looks like the front is warped.

The front isnt bolted all the way down... notice there are only 4 holding it down right now (in the corners) which makes 4 out of 24 total so it does appear a bit warped.

Im going to prime all the silver stuff tomorow and throw a few coats of the base paint on. Will wetsand them on Saturday and then throw the colored metalcast coat on.

Will also be doing all of the touch up paint on the black stuff. I just got back from Walmart... I grabbed some mesh to go in the hole on the side and front, will be pretty shnazzy.

Oh ya, Im going to bring the case outside tomorrow to get some nice natural light shots so I can have some good before/after pics of the paint.

Im really excited to see how this bad boy will look painted, Ive been working on this thing for a long time.

EDIT: Forgot... Ive got to wire up and solder the LEDs that will be on the top and on the side with the flying Ninja...

>_<

Im going to do that right now.

Alright, bump... check out first post for the thumbnailed webpage.

I will be done very soon, all I have left to do is paint.
