As some of you people may have known, over the last week i've been tweaking my DS3, G.skill, E6300 budget PC. I think I have to finally say that I found my sweet spot, and not going any further. The E6300, G.Skill 2x1gb (HZ) series ram, and Gigabyte DS3 motherboard has got to be the BEST combo of PC hardware that I've ever bought before. My starting OC was 400*7 = 2.8GHz. That was really easy to do as everything was at stock voltage. Then I went to 425*7 with a slight bump in Vcore. Then I went to 450*7, this was really fast. Now im @ 458*7 = 3.21GHz. I cant belive this combo. My G.Skill ram is at 4/4/4/12 2.3Vdimm running 916MHz. This week 27 chip seems to have great OCing potential, and Gigabyte has a killer motherboard for under 150 dollars. Here is a CPUz shot, and thanks to everyone for ALL THERE HELP ;)

Thank you. I did a 32mb SuperPI run, and played some FEAR (maxed out) so far, so good  I just got a 17sec PI 1MB run.

Nice :). Told you that you should jack it up more :p.
Well I finally had to "bump" the voltage up 1 notch to 1.375 (somewhere near there) and seems OK now. I cant belive I passes 32mb PI runs, and the game FEAR, then the PC decided to FREEZE while Im on this website  . However for the last 12 hours the PC has been on played FEAR again for 30-40 minutes, ran SuperPI 32mb again, and on the internet overnite, and with this bump in voltage it seems it maybe stable now. I really hope so, I worked really hard to get this OC :p

run dual sp2004 to really check stability

how warm is it getting at full load? :D

seems to not go over 48-49c, these temps were checked when I was doing my PI runs. Just downloaded SP2004 Orthos edition (right?) will run it and see. My luck it will fail :( Can I still use the Computer when im doing this test? Do I want to run small FTT's, large ftt's, I have no idea. This is a first time for me to use this program.

OK, ran dual SP2004 for 1 hour, and temp went to 53C MAX. Is this OK for this givin OC using my Scythe Infinity Cooler w/ stock 1200RPM fan? I have a SUNON 91CFM fan coming tomorrow, do you think this might drop the temp 1-2c maybe? The stock fan is 43CFM, so im more then doubling the CFM's.

OK, switched back to the F5 BIOS and I belive my XF-i issue is gone again, and thank god my OC is still good.

Nothings wrong with your temp, that Sunon fan will be very loud, I wouldn't use it. It will drop your temp more than 1-2C though, but not as much as it should because the Infinity was built for low CFM fans (under 50)

ok, thanks. Im just hoping that if im idling now @ 41/42c with this 3.21Ghz OC, that I might be idling around 38-39c. My goal is to get this CPU to IDLE in the 30's. I really thought that the scythe infinity would let it, but I guess this OC is to much.

You got to be kidding, that's fast, mine 2450 x2 = 38sec. Is this right? WOW....
Yes sir, its right. That X2 is still a GREAT chip though ;)

OK, the sunon fan is on and temps went to 39/40c IDLE. The only problem I have is now since the fan is heavier then the stock scythe fan, the heatsink is bending downwards just a LITTLE. I can only think that this might be affecting to contact of the HEATSINK to CPU core, right? PLEASE someone tell me there is an aftermarket way to securley mount my heatsink to the board. The plastic clips are sh*t  The heatsink weighs 960grams, I cant belive scythe is using plastic clips.
