1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Photoshop, video editing, gaming
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
300-400 max.
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
I live in socal withing 10 minutes of a microcenter
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Looking for the quietest case and proecssor cooler I can find. If it is in the budget I would like to pic up a new mobo processor with some ram. Unfortunatly I do not have a ton of money right now. Specs of my current build are in my signature
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
re using everything except a potential mobo/processor upgrade.
6) Will you be overclocking?
No
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
24 inch monitor
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
This week
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
Nothing crazy. Mostly I just process photoshop on it. I do very little fiel transfer. No raid needed.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Yes

Mainly looking for a new case. I am trying to make my build whisper quiet. Aesthetics are not a concern (no plexi side or lights needed.). If I can I would like to update my mobo and processor to speed up the computer and keep it current. My video card is more than enough for me right now, as well as the 750 watt semi modular powersupply. Thanks!

You'd have to bump your budget to ~$500 if you want a processor that you can overclock to be faster than your existing one, while still being silent. And you'd need ~$580 if you want to get new ram (might as well grab 16GB).

That said, here is a good silent case and silent cooler you can move your existing build into:

http://www.amazon.com/Scythe-Mugen-Cooler-Socket-SCMG-4000/dp/B00G9YBHEY

Adding an overclockable CPU and motherboard would add another $300 (You get $20 off this combo).

http://www.microcenter.com/product/434177/Core_i5-4690K_35GHz_LGA_1150_Boxed_Processor

http://www.microcenter.com/product/433412/GA-Z97-HD3_LGA_1150_ATX_Intel_Motherboard

And you can add 16GB ram if you want, or reuse what you have.

good to know, thanks. I might just stick with the core an mobo then. things are still running smoothly, but ram seems really cheap right now. I'm almost tempted to pick some up.

what are your guys thoughts on this case

Update: it looks like somebody in France reviewed it today with temperatures and decibel meters.

Looks like if you want to use that case, you're going to need to use the integrated fan controller. Those two fans on high are loud!

But on low (5v), it looks comparable to the R5 on low.

With just 120mm fans it probably doesn't move as much air as the Fractal Design R5, but if you're keeping the system load under 250w it should be able to handle things silently.

How does that cpu cooler compare to the coolermaster 212. its about 25 cheaper
