Do you really have to update the firmware of the SSD when a new update comes out?
 
Depends. Does it add functionality/performance? Does it fix a problem YOU are experiencing?
I've benefitted from updating and saved my bacon from NOT updating at times. Just depends.
 
I wouldn't be a guinea pig but after a couple of weeks you can update.
