Upcomming vista patch to improve graphics?

Interesting.

I doubt it's DX10.1, more likely the DX august update which updates both DX10 and DX9 features, this is already available if you check the video card forums.
 
Meh, if it actually improves newer video cards and enhances graphics, I'll take it :D

specifically this;

I think the first is related to Vista chewing up memory space equal to video memory on the card (See AnandTech Messy Transition 2), new video cards probably means cards with more Vram as they cause the most problem, especially the 8800GTX.

The second really can't mean much, it wont change textures or anything like that, it might change HDR quality or something like that.
