I admit I love new technology and am pretty excited about the upcoming Pentium D Smithfield Dual Cores. I was really hoping that there may be gaming improvement with a dual core, but from what I have been reading dual core won't benefit games much of yet.
So within the next 12 months which processors will be best for gaming? I know as of now the Athlon 64's are best in gamings, but what of chips coming out next year such as the Preslar dual core, etc.?
I supposse it's up to game developers to take advantage of dual core. I just wonder when dual core will really shine for games.
I forsee myself building my next rig within the next 12 months and am wondering what is up on the horizon that I should look for Intel or AMD for gaming. I would really like to jump on the dual core band-wagon, but I guess we'll have to wait and see for benchmarks.
