Hi guys...........

it seems it is upgrade season with the spring rolling in.....so I'm looking for suggestions on upgrading my rig below...........

SlI is still not worth it...........right?

Is SLI worth it? Well that depends on how extreme you are and how much money you want to blow.

My upgrade recommendations for you: :)

Athlon 64 3200+
DFI nForce4 Lanparty Ultra-D
ATI X800XL
Samsung 160Gb SATA

Thanks Stellar........

well...I like your suggestions, that is what I had in mind, although I think I will have to buy some RAM too, since mine is only PC3000........

If I were you, I'd save up some cash and get an A64 3500+ or better. If you're planning on OCing, then you'll want to get either an NF3 board (if you want to run on an AGP card) or a NF4 (if you want to run PCI-E). Better RAM is a must; if you're planning on OCing, then I'd get some high end OCZ stuff, though otherwise some decent dual channel RAM should work.

I really dont know if I'll be overclocking or not...I have never done it and I have read that there are some pretty hardcore settings in the bios of the NF4 motherboards....

I will be overclocking the video card though, and I hope I will find a HIS X800XL around....

If overclocking is not your thing and you don't want to be overwhelmed with BIOS options, then I would strongly suggest the Asus A8V-E Deluxe over my previous recommendation for the DFI NF4 board. It is based on the VIA 890 chipset and is a very stable board with all the features of NF4 (PCI Express, SATA II).

If I had your rig, I'd wait until the dual core AMD chips come out to upgrade. Your machine is still able to run any game decently.
