hey all,
after recently frying my old is7 i have gone about overclokcing my system again..
i have a 2.4c D1 steeping proc (good stepping>>?)
New abit is7 (second revision hsf on nbridge)
500w psu
geil golden dragon pc-3500 ram
and a coolermaster jet 4 or sumthing hsf. (i also have wc.. just not installed currently)
my prime95 temps are cpu: 53c and pwm is 63c. bare in mind abit reads high.

currently i am at 244 fsb at 5-4 divider with plenty of voltage and stock memopry timings, however when i go upwards to 250ish i get blue screens of death (with random errors) before & during windows loading screens... dont know why!
any ideason how to get higher? is the pwm too hot?? northbridge??

thanks

what is the nb strap at? what are your GAT settings? increase the AGP voltage? increase the RAM and vcore?

ive tried nb strap at "by cpu" and 800
uping vcore vdimm and agp voltage doesnt help.
gat settings are all auto

set the strap at 800..raise the vdimm to 2.8(highest it'll go on an IS7, I think)..raise the vcore to 1.55(these boards undervolt)..GAT=ANADD..lock agp/pci=66/33..memory timings should be good at 2.5, 7, 3, 3. try that out..

THanks a lot!!
i think it was the gat settings.... im now prime testing at 255 fsb without any random stop messages!
THanks!

thanks again rollaguy!!!! i am currently at 275 fsb so 3.3 ghz i am at the limit of my cooling tho!! my comp fails prime but ONLY after the hsf is saturated with heat and the cpu gets to like 56 degrees c (im at 1.7v) so basically 273 for now until i get my finger out and re-do my WC setup...
p.s didnt realiuze u had same ram, cpu and nearly identical mobo....

edited for sp

damn, knock the voltage down. I'm only at 1.55(1.52 since the IC7 undervolts about everything). 56*C is not bad for "jet" cooling @ 100% load..don't forget, these boards' temps read high. maybe get some sinks for the caps since they seem to be heating up a bit
